The very remote and dilapidated abbey church of St. Girons required the construction of a church in the heart of the village of Hagetmau.
In 1884, Bishop Delannoy, Bishop of Aire et Dax, laid the foundation stone of the new church, which was inaugurated in 1886. In 1904, the church of Saint-Girons, of which only the crypt now remains, was destroyed.
The stained glass windows, 1886, are by G-P Dagrand, a glass painter in Bordeaux. Those of the transept have an interesting iconography: Saint...The very remote and dilapidated abbey church of St. Girons required the construction of a church in the heart of the village of Hagetmau.
